As part of his ongoing research on various kinds of cosmopolitanism, Fergal Lenehan has published the article “Depicting European Federalists in Fiction: Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi in Bernhard Setzweins Der böhmische Samurai (2017) and Heinrich Mann in Colm Tóibín’s The Magician (2021)”  in the Journal of European Studies. The article engages with the representation of Coudenhove-Kalergi and Mann as Europeanist cosmopolitans, examines their federalist thought and situates their depiction with the oeuvre of Setzwein and Tóibín. The article is available in open access as an online first, pre-print edition here.
